Ohhmmmmmmmmm….
Some Crystal Cove beach bliss for the end of the week.
A nice low tide gave us plenty to find… I followed this guy around the mussels for a bit as he searched for a snack on Chez Reef…
After a quick dip in and out of the shells, he came up with gold – crab gold!
I don’t think this was the same bird, but I like the way he stands out crisply against the sand here… I followed him around for a bit and to his credit, he found a nice stinky fish up onshore that he and another fellow mate tore into for about 20 minutes…
I watched these guys head out with a bit of envy… what a day to go paddleboarding…
This guy was out solo pulling up traps… the birds knew the drill and followed him around from trap to trap waiting for him to toss out old bait or the odd small critter that had gotten lodged in the trap…
This fellow beach rover came along for a ride.
The low tide left sea anemones laying about clinging to their rocks everywhere, their opalescent arms and radial sunburst faces otherworldy like fleshy flowers.
There weren’t many, but we did find a few beautiful starfish clinging to the rocks…
A small little break… that’s Irvine Cove in the background on the cliffs. Nice neighborhood, that.
The paddleboarders making their way back after a nice hour-long trip out…
Andd…. back in again… mission accomplished…
Much Aloha for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Amazing pics… Those pics of the aenomones (sp) are incredible. We love going down to crystal cove with the kids and letting them play in the tide pools. Amazing place every day.
Ahhhhh….wish I could be there now….sitting on the beach, with a Mai Tai in hand :). Thanks for sharing the pics Jesse! They’re gorgeous!
Colleen, next to Katie, you’re my biggest fan! Thanks for stopping by…
These pictures are amazing. They captured the color beautifully. And the water looked perfect for some paddle boarding. I will have to take my board down there sometime soon when the weather warms up.
Glad you liked the photos! Crystal Cove is a choice spot, for sure…
